Attorney Richard E. Bawden chose to go into law for a reason that has been a tremendous help to his success. As a child of the 1960's, his idealism led him to want to help people in trouble when he could. Time has not changed that goal.
Today Mr. Bawden continues to be personally active in the Inland Empire Community. In Redlands, he is a member of the noon Kiwanis Club and served as its president in 2002. He is also active in the Redlands Legal Aid Clinic, has served on the Board of Directors for the local YMCA and provided leadership for the Allocations Committee of the United Way. When his children were young, he coached AYSO soccer for 12 years, youth baseball for 4 years, and served as a volunteer in the local Boy Scout council for over 10 years.
As head paralegal, Mary Trent adds to the expertise offered by the Law Offices of Richard E. Bawden with over 28 years of legal experience to assist family law clients. Mary supervises all paralegals and directs additional clerical staff to support the legal team for Attorney Bawden.
Several years ago Mary Bawden joined her husband Richard to serve as the office manager at his firm. Mary has a BA degree in English and history, including a California State Secondary and Community College Teaching Credential. She also holds a Master of Arts degree. Her educational base serves as a strong support to her administrative talents.

MARY TRENT-LEGAL ASSISTANT
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
Mary Trent has been a Paralegal/Legal Assistant for over 28 years specializing in the field of Family Law. Prior to working for Attorney Bawden, she was employed for 24 years by the Law Office of Roy H. Nierman. Mr. Nierman was also a Certified Family Law Specialist.
Mary brings professionalism to the workplace and a genuine concern for the clients. Her communication abilities are exceptional and her work performance is excellent. Attorney Bawden feels very fortunate to have Mary as part of his staff.
